Join me, Susan McCreevy, for an introduction to creating intriguing abstract landscapes using unique layering and finishing techniques. This online course uses mixed media, encaustic wax and incorporates materials that add texture and depth. You can use supplies you have or those recommended to create a series of small works on mount board.

Day 1: I'll guide you in selecting colours that resonate with you and harmonise beautifully. We'll use tools to create interesting lines and textures and experiment with layering to develop evocative landscapes.
Day 2: We'll explore incorporating collage materials like dyed papers and inspirational phrases to add depth. We'll use fabric, stencils, modeling paste, and metallic embellishments for texture.
Day 3: Today, we'll finish your pieces with simple, accessible encaustic wax techniques, adding layers, collage elements, and texture. Alternative finishing options are available for those not ready to use encaustic wax.

This course begins on Friday 16th of August and will be rolled out over the course of 3 days. It will be available to purchase from the 9th August. You then have lifetime access to the recorded tutorials, so you can watch them whenever you want, and as many times as you wish. *Lifetime means as long as the school is in business* The taster course is only available to purchase until Wednesday 4th September 2024.
